I have a question from my insurance company is my alarm thatcham approved?

I found this on the thatcham website

http://www.thatcham.org/resources/pdfs/compliance.pdf

Which suggests it is but only on 850r's model not earlier t5r's (strange)

I have sent the link but they said a letter confirming from a volvo dealer would do.

Can anybody produce such a letter for me on the forum, who works at a main dealer.

Just tell the that it's a factory fit one (if it is ) they should already know if it is.

early 850's didn't have the metal strap over the ecu case which i believe was added to get the cars Thatcham approved, not sure if T-5R's have the strap or not

Yeah, how can you tell from that photo ?
the normal fixing for the strap is a black pop-rivet

The plot thickens with my cars history, I`ve discovered in the past someone has put a early V70 engine and box in it. The ECU cover has always had a 6m/m bolt so someone mite have changed the ECU.

from what i was told by a few insurance companies my 850r had what was classed as a thatchem cat1 on it from new but that was 16 years ago and thatchem specs have change since 96 i managed to find a company that would recognise it as a thatcem cat1 but never wanted the cert because it was standard fit if that helps any lol
