injector colours.....??

hi there..... could someone give me the breakdown on injector 'CC' ratings in relation to colours..??


ive seen ....brown, green, blue, white..??, pretty sure the ones in my S60 T5 are blue, but not 100%, lol

On the x70 P1/P2 range reds are 315cc, Whites are 350cc, blues are 350cc (at 3 bar) 395cc (at 3.8bar), greens 405cc (at 3bar) 465cc (at 3.8bar)

3.8bar pressure was run on the P2 range but not sure what year.

Orange was used in the 850 range but they flow the same as the reds.

Thought I would do the range for you (obviously you can go higher).

Whites are the standard fit on the P1 x70 T5 engine. I can't remember what engines the higher flow injectors are off. Someone will know.

so...... when you refer to '3bar-3.8bar giving different injector throughput'... what governs this, i thought the injectors governed the fuel pressure..??

is it the fuel pump itself that needs changing along with injectors

theirs a fuel pressure regulator on the injector rail

ah...... just trying to understand how the fuel system works.

found these red ones.....these are aftermarket so i dont suppose their colour is relevant.

They are farrrr tooo big. For a start a custom map would be required. What sort of power u intending to run ?

nothing mega...... eventually the car will have a stg 2 map with custom exhaust & 19t turbo.

id like a solid 290bhp..... but not too savage as its a daily driver, so i was looking at a slightly bigger injector, its all pie in the sky at the moment b/c the map will be first.

i have been told this, ive also been told that the 16t will also be good for this power... but tbh, id rather not push components to their max tolerances, id much prefer to fit bigger components & run them @ 70% capacity (290bhp in this case) extending their lifespan... less service / maintenance has gotta be a plus.
