Been to my friend at his alfa breakers. We were discussing the braking issues as i'm past waiting for brakes.

Any how we offered up some 4 pot brembo's from alfa's and they look like with a little plate they will fit.

He has worked in his alfa breakers for 20 years and has seen these calipers fitted in a similar fashion on a range of cars and he himself has had brackets made (not for a volvo though).

I have access to a local engineering company who are reasonable price wise for me.

So does anyone have a spare upright and a 330 disc?

As soon as its here ill be making brackets for myself and other who want them or pass on the design for someone else to make cheaply.

These calipers fit a 28mm wide disc and 320 or 330mm diameter.

I know its going over it again but:

Who ever is reading this can they please go through the discs again what take's 330mm and 320mm 28mm wide discs

as may just be easier to go for 320mm, planning on fitting them under titans / volans or comets. I have all three types of these wheels to try so in a good position.

Pretty sure my old one was binned :( Could have brought it with me Sunday too. I'll have a look anyway.
Be keeping my eye on this thread anyway, 330's would be nice :)

Shame you wont be able to use an S60R disc for this project.

I am absolutely determined to get this done, i can increase the width disc the calipers accept as they bolt together.

whats teh problem with the s60r disc width?

and would appreciate that cherry many thanks

I should have a 330 x 32 available in the next week or so.

The R's rears are 330 x 28mm (?) so could fit

That would be fabulous paul. If anybody out there knows the best discs to use?

Is there a 316mm disc from an xc90 or something is that 28mm wide

Bare in mind 280 to 316 using 4 pot brembo's is a big jump.

Hi I have a old set of discs that I removed from my S60R ,also I am going to Haynes at the weekend I would be happy to bring one or two up if you are going or know one of the Luther members that are.
They are 330mm dia.also have some 1/2worn pads as well if that helps all for the front.

dont just limit yourslef to the alfa calipers, also look at the fiat 20v coupe, 406 v6 coupe and variuos performance renaults,

they all have a different way to mount to the car, spacing etc

also you may require custom hoses, as the standered will be too short and again different ways of solving this are used as standered, some have a banjo end, others a metal pipe in to the caliper

what ever method you choose i can custom make the hoses to suit the conversion for around £28.50 the pair

Just done a very small amount of digging the xc90 are 316mm and 28mm wide so will fit straight in.

a bit more digging and late v70 discs 336mm are 28mm wide.

anyone know if they fit?

been looking into this to, idealy you want radial mount calipers as aposed to lug mount as its quite tight around there to get a bracket to fit, you could then make a bracket to fit whatever disk size , fiat coupe are the same as the early ford rs.

what about moving out the original caliper on a bracket, to fit the 336mm that should pep things up abit

ill put a pic up in a bit, not sure how you could make a bracket to fit with a lug mount caliper

easy to do done them before on bikes.

Looking at cost effectiveness, looks to be cheaper to go for the 316mm discs.

I have been looking at the 320mm v50 discs, but they look to have a 63mm disc centre, does anybody know if they fit??

From what we saw earlier the brembos will fit. because they are on a 130mm spacing so in effect your just making a flat plate off set is very similar. But a plate can be wasted if needs be.

Ill have to but a hub and disc, i just need to know which disc

What do you reckon 316mm? as well all know it will fit under all 17's

Hi my S60r has 17' wheels Pegasus and that has 330mm and it has a gap of approx 1/4 calliper to wheel.

Thats what I was thinking about making earlier. Well spotted so it's game on.

Gonna use 316mm discs at first for cost, ease of fitment and width.

Right off to buy a hub unless Qady has a spare I'll be seeing him Friday
