8mpg and reving itself

right im getting 8mpg at the minute.cut out today and if you hold the revs at 2000 it revs up and down itself..any ideas?my management lights on to..

Sounds you may have a boost leak......

Had the same symptoms on my Nissan 200sx when I first bought it.

Sounds like the lambda sensor, with the low mpg it sounds like it running rich which would explain why it cut out. any black smoke ?

changed the probe there.seems better now.going to have a blast..

sounds just like mine, new Bosch lambda.....sorted.

still the same maybe even worse.wasnt ticking over but it is now..anything over about 3000 revs and its coughing and spluttering all over the place and stinks of petrol..cleaned the icv yesterday as it was black.any ideas??

does it run the same with air flow meter disconnected??
condition of dizzy cap and leads makes a diffrence to running as well..does it misfire as well?

runs the same with the maf unplugged or not..only ticks over for about 20secs.

my intercooler pipes have a lot of oil in them to..

mine went the same...turned out 2 be the temp sensor....no oil in pipes tho..

il second the temp sensor. it went while i was sitting in traffic it all of a suddon started revving its self to about 3500 stank of fuel then at idle it kept trying to stall.
