It'll be in pre op guise as well. It'll be the last time I run on 17" pegs and standard ride height. Be good to chat with some fellow 'R' owners too.

Hi just to ask what are you going to do with your wheels as I am after a set of 17's Pegasus ?.

I was planning on keeping them for the winter. I'm putting a set of 19" pegs that I've had powder coated shadow chrome on but don't fancy running on them when the weather turns icy and snowy.

Have you tried the 19's? I felt they affected the ride quality and handling adversely.

I haven't as yet. I don't tend to use the car a lot as the gf has a D5 S60 so she gets over twice the miles per gallon so when I do take the 'R' out it's usually for a short blast etc.

Pretty much the same here......would recommend you try the ride with 19's before you commit to them :-)

Yeah Harvey my plan was to chuck some winter tyres on the 17s. They could do with powder coating too as the paints flaking of the bolt holes area on them. Kinda got the mindset of 19s for show and 17s for practicality.

Out of interst Santa how long did you run 19s for and is your 'R' lowered? If they actually turn up I've got a set of 30mm Eibach going on the wednesday after Sparkford?

Not lowered and it was at least 12 months.

You werent at Trax last year were you?

I'm going to get the wheel discussion broken away from this thread as its more relevent for the phase2 section. (Plus potentially useful to others :-) )

Yeah I've been a bit slow but hopefully I can get up to speed and get along to a few more shows and meets this year. Can't wait to get the 19s on though. I could have gone for 18s but wanted to be a bit different without going down the line of another design of wheel as I think the Pegs suit the 'R'

Pegs deffo suit the R but for fast road I'd advise the 18" genuine pegs imho :-)

What size of tyres are you going to run 235-30-19 ?

Sharkey R
Monday 7th May 2012, 20:41
I shall trial the 19s seeing as i've spent alot on them both purchasing and powder coating and then if they are too harsh they shall be for show use only. I certainly appreciate the advise though. :-)
