Hello all,

still getting used to the new V70, and though I knew all the bulbs on my Nissan, have yet to get used to these, and as the gf is out in it at the moment, can't check the handbook.

Looking on Autobulbs direct it seems to suggest the headlights are H7 bulbs, which surprises me, as the Nissan has these, and they are akin to candles - is it all down to the headlight assembly/reflectors, as the Volvo lights seem like daylight to me.

Is this as everyone else expects a Y plate Phase 2 V70 T5 to be equipped?

Dipped beam - H7
Main beam - HB3
Sidelight - 501
Indicators - 581
Side indicator - 501A
Brake light - 380
Reversing - 382

Yup. H7's are also used in the Discovery 3 & 4 with variable results, (rubbish in the 3, not too bad in the 4), so it must be down to a different setup inside the headlamp unit.

IIRC, Ring did a spare build kit for a few quid that was quite a bit more resilient than the usual Halfords-type kit. Could be worth looking out for.

For my P2, I use Ring xenonmax dipped beam (£16 from A1/Motabitz)
Ebay 100W HB3 main beam (who's gonna see it?) £4 from ebay + free sidelight bulbs which look chav-blue but are white when on
Ebay 100W H1 spotlight bulbe - £4
