Advice needed peoples...

Hi all,

I need some of your guys expertise, my engine seems to be louder than normal, ive had a few people look at it and they say that the "tappits" need adjusting/replacing.

Any advice from anyone, ive been told its a big job, if i dont do anything about it, will it get worse or will it just stay noisy? I was also told to get some engine/injector treatment, would that help bring the noise down?

Once again, any help/advice would be much appreciated.

I thought mine were loud but after taking to VT and parking next to another T5 with both engines running Hamish showed me it was all in my mind.Might be worth checking the oil and oil level though if you haven't already.Where abouts are you as i'm sure there must be another member about who's car you could listen to.

My 850 was abit Tappety , But as soon as i changed the oil it disappeared..
is your C70 due a oil change..! Hopefully a simple cure.

I would say oil as well. Mine had fully synth in originally 5w40, and that was a bit noisy. I got some Mobil 1 0w40 and Hamish said that it would be too thin, so went with his recco of 10w40 semi synth. Purrs now, change every 5K.
