Alarm malfunction,

This problem occured a couple of months ago and is still there,
I cannot seem to get the car to arm itself when i lock it, The locks go down and the dead locks come in but the indicators do not flash and the red light on top of the dash doesn't light either,
But when i unlock the car on the button the indicators flash twice and the doors unlock.
Anyone had a similar problem?

When I first bought my 854 it did exactly the same, spent weeks trying to sort it to no avail - in the end I bit the bullet and had a new Toad Cat 1 alarm / immo fitted, now I sleep well at night knowing the chances of the car being nicked are few and far between (and i get big discount on my insurance with Chris Nott)
