I really need to make some time to replace my daily driver asap. I'm sort of decided on a D5 powered S40 but I'm wondering what spec I should go for?

R-Design comes to mind first but I'm wondering if an SE spec will offer more comfort?

Any feedback or suggestions on trim spec?

Cheers :-)

SE Sport Lux - Mines one and it's got leathers, cruise, heated seats, 6CD autochanger (in dash) etc...

R-design looks good but it's just a gashed up standard model with little extra expensive kit.

Dyna-audio hifi is good if you can get it (is on the boot screen when u turn it on)

Sports suspension with 18" wheels gives a nuggety ride - car is MUCH better on 17's if you can stand the looks.

Get the front lower wishbones Polybushed if its done more than 35k cause they will be shot.

Check the cruise control works (usually a clutch sensor fault) and watch out for whining when steering dry as it may mean your top mounts are shot (in my case, at 60k) or Steering pump on the way out.

Bodykit is good if you plan on SS exhaust exhaust as it will look daft without it.

Good cars but parts do wear - my dampers, bushes and top mounts were all screwed at 55k and replaced.

If you change the dampers, go Bilstein even if just the standard one.

Top cheap upgrades are:

- Strut Brace (may have one already)
- Braided brake lines
- IPD rear roll bar
