So as my introduction post stated, I got a real bargain with my car: 60k, stamped service book, 12 months MOT, 6 months tax, full black leather with heated front seats, cruise control all the toys..... £1250 and there was just under half a tank of fuel left for me :)

So, more about the car, well its clean as a whistle, paintwork is lovely but the rear bumper is starting t fade so will machine polish that if the weather is good at the weekend. There's no proof of cambelt being done, so Monday morning it is going in for cambelt kit, waterpump, coolant flush etc.

Here's a quick pic I took after I got home from work today:

Looking to get a stainless exhaust made up asap then mapped (my last 850 T5 was Rica 304'd, that went bloody well) so thinking of Rica again, unless there is something better out there? I also plan on lowering 40mm and picking up some 19" Pegasus reps. Also first thing I want to change looks wise is the grille, I would like the eggbox style one, but no idea where I can get one or what the part number is?

Will keep this updated as, and when things change :)

Matt.

Stick with 18s, 19s on these aint the best for an everday car.

Saw a red one of these as an undercover traffic car on an old police, camera, action, not long back and it didn't have the rear wing on. Looked surprisingly good.

Cool, I come from the VAG scene where it's lows and massive rims, but this is something I bought to grow up a bit, but still enjoy and be able to drive properly without the worry of ripping a sump off ;)

I posted in the wheels thread in the 70 area I really want to know what the fan blade style 18s are that came on some V70's that are posted in the thread, they look mega on the black S70 :)

I think andy gave the name of those wheels earlier on in that thread, possibly.

The Rica 304 is the T5 map, the 310 map is for the S/V70R.

Makes no real difference to me, just hope it gets rid of the turbo lag... I'm almost in danger of falling asleep at the wheel haha!

Definitely needs a poly top engine mount too.

hi matt...........go easy when you machine polish the rear bumper..............the paint is mixed with an additive to allow the paint to flex with the bumper and as such is not as hard as the paint on the rest of the car...............it is very easy to heat up and wrinkle so be careful............apologies if i'm telling you something you already know.........nice car by the way

Did he? I can't see a reference to those wheels, unless I'm blind..... Which is possible ;)

Busy afternoon today. Decided I want to get rid of the awful chrome grille, so within 2 minutes the grille was off:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/lilford/9ef8bb99.jpg

While I was looking at the front end I notice the headlight wipers had broken rubbers. The rubbers were removed and swapped for the rubber from the windscreen wipers as another of todays jobs was to fit my flexi blades:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/lilford/3f6e5bb5.jpg

With that done I decided to spray the grille matte black:

Whilst doing this, I bought a cheap cone filter for a laugh. I actually like the recirc sound so it will stay for a while until I get bored of it:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/lilford/3d086078.jpg

So, when that was done and the paint had dried on the grille it all went back together:

After that I also cleaned the engine bay with degreaser, paintbrush and rinsed with water. Didn't take a pic but it's alot better now. I also removed the under-bonnet sound deadning. I also gave my rear bumper a quick t-cut to see if it would make much difference and it did. So I shall machine polish it with Menzerna tomorrow and hopefully it will be back looking at its' best....but for how long I don't know haha!

Never really been a fan of black wheels to be honest. Anthracite is about the darkest I'd go, but I really enjoy high power silver wheels once cleaned and sealed they look stunning against a shiney car. I want to lower the car soon and fit a polybush top engine mount as my 850 had one and it was massively different to this standard one.

I'v had a quick look on the net and can't seem to find the name, but as its a proper volvo wheel it should be around somewhere.

Strange seeing an engine bay without a strutbrace, looks wrong. lol

Gutted: *MIGHT* have to sell the car. Job is under threat and if I lose it I can't afford to run it as I struggle as it is now. Gutted isn't the word, considering I had the cambelt, alternator belt, and waterpump done yesterday too :(

Any ideas what it's roughly worth?

il give 700 crispy pound notes (though these may be consolidated into groups of 20 in a single piece)

i know thats totally unrealistic and silly and of no help, so i do apologise.

Very nice though :)
