Had Awesome drive up to the Meet with Jim and andy's Cars, Again i so wish mine was as Clean, I must try harder.

Andy u know it`s one of the best t5r`s in the country and she`s woth fixing all day long.Plz get it fixed and if I can b of any help just give me a shout I`m always there for the members.If want a new engine fitted I`m only 20miles away we can get it done mate.I hope it`s not as bad as u think it is.

you dont drive your car that hard and your not running enough boost for bent rods mate

He's running 1.4bar of boost but to be fair it's been mapped so that amount of boost doesn't come in until higher/safer revs, it's a hollow (coming from low down in the engine) tapping which it gets faster as you bring the revs up until about 3k when it stops and then as the revs come down starts again, the drive home was about 30miles and the noise was still there when we got home :( :(

I know these things are sent to test us and all but it would be a shame to see this as the end of a very good and mint 850 R!!

check the oil pressure mate because you could have a slightly blocked oil pickup pipe in the sump.is the noise bottom or top .get a hearing devise like what the doctors use and go around the engine.if the rods are bent then drop some ths or kalmor union rods in the same engine if its a good one.donot break that car its too nice.

If it was mine I would do a rebuild with uprated rods & pistons, the engine has been up till this point very good and healthy and has always had oil changes every 3,000 miles so it's well worth it...

I think it's got to be a rebuild mate, as I think another engine is just going to do the same again running that much boost. The car is not a daily user so it coming off the road for awhile is not too much of an problem.

What exhaust is on your car Andy? Sucks if it is a rod.....I have never trusted most my cars above 1.2bar....so is the map to blame? Or has it been on the car for a while.
