Hi guys,

Got to replace my rear brake pads before heading to France in 2 weeks...

I have tried searching for a basic how to but front brakes is all I can find... I know how to remove the rear pads but I need to know if you can retract the caliper piston without removing the caliper from the hub/disc.

If so what have you used to push the caliper back in without levering against your brake disc.

Cheers

Is the rear a wind in one??
If so, swap the tools over now you've finished the suspension kit..

I've no idea.....I think just a normal push-in type one.....From what I have read, you can do it with the caliper on the car which is why I'm looking for a how to...

Oh I am heading to the Essex meet mate, But staying over at my old mans for the rugby, otherwise would have offered you my passenger seat. Unless you know anyone else going from our way?

I have a how to wiv pictures - 850 rear brakes can be retracted - personal favouritei are the plastic diy clamps - or massive water pliers.

back brakes - anti-squeal shims...

you can use G-clamp, so long as the bottom part rotates (so you don't mark the pads).

Ah OK it must be the V40 that has the wind in design..(I've done both recently but memory isn't what it use to be).

Yeah I'm not going to make the Essex meet this time.
