I found an old pic of my mum posing by my parents Volvo and caravan about 10 years before I was born, unsure of the location. Pic is circa mid to late 70s.

A few years later some early lessons in car cleaning for me :)

The car that started my love for Volvo's, the day it was collected from Lancaster Volvo in 1986 ish I think..

A few years later and still faithful in it's duties of ferrying the family around whilst doubling as a play pen/picnic table :)

Resting after driving from Essex to Scotland to see the grand parents, faultlessly as always..

A company car my dad used whilst he worked in the Carribean back in the late 80's for 6 months, made a great 6 month family break although I still had to go to school :(

So did my dad and I, unfortunately it needed a full running gear resto by the early 80's and as my dad had a young family and a wife who needed transport it had to go and it was replaced with the 760.
I cried when the new owner drove it away :(
If I had the time and space for a classic a Scimitar would be my first consideration but it would have to be an SE5a like that one the later SE6's lost some of the earlier cars character imo..

Yeah I thought that too, the Scimitar had done about 90,000 miles in 1986 and the 760 had done over 200,000 when it was traded in for a V70 in 2005. So between them, retrospectively for their own build qualitys, they had both done their fair share of work for my dad. The Scimitar was still in use, taxed, up until the late 90's and the 760 was taxed up until late 2009 so both were used and on the road, I guess because of the tax, they must have still been working. I must say my care and attention towards cars came from my dad so even though they'd both done a fair amount of work they were well cared for.
