View Full Version : 3" downpipe build/adapt

I tried fitting my 3" down pipe on the t36 spent a gd few hours building a lobster back 110 degree bend and it didnt bloody fit lol i cant belive how tight it is behind that turo even standard. That big bracket/mount on the drivers side couldnt be in a worse place. Ive got to try and adapt the standard flange to take the 3" flange. Nightmare!

I had that problem with mine, ended up cutting the heat shield around the steering linkage, and remaking it to get some more room.

Heres a picture of the start of my downpipe, I'll have to get a pic of the finished item.

never had that problem with mine .fitted like a glove and on jamest5r car too.

Never had an issue with mine either, Paul your downpipe is going to look impressive when complete.

Thanks, I'll get a picture tomorrow of it complete, its off the car at the moment, taking it to be ceramic coated.

Looks realy smart paul!! Iv cum to the conclution im going to use the standard d/p flange and i can get away with welding my 3" taperd flange to the old one.
Hopfully anyway lol.
