Hi put the rica ecu on the daily car, wound the boost up, so it indicates 1.1 bar.

I should say that i hit fuel cut (around 15psi) at 0.9 bar, calibrating the guage at that 1.1 equates to 18.3 psi.

is 18.3 psi too much?

seems ok

Ive got mine wound up to about 1.3 bar mate and goes well on my rica and MBC. Im prob running it too high as im risking bending a rod but it seems ok so long as you dont boot it from the off.

1.1 bar is 16psi mate not 18.3. I would say 17-18psi is ok (1.2 bar). When i bent a rod i was running 1.5 bar for ages

missing the point frankie, the boost gauge is not accurate, i get fuel cut at 0.9 bar indicated on my gauge which, volvo say fuel cut is around 15 psi. So that means my boost gauge is indicating 1.1 is actually around 18 psi.

just wondering if thats too much.

but thanks for the input, 18 should be fine then.

i'd say buy a new gauge mate lol

Will do, but its fitted so was working by that to make sure wasn't too high

If u hit fuel gut at 15 then I'd say it ain't mapped shorly

i dunno what fuel cut even is? dont have that problem with the newer cars lol

Lol, And I was told 1.2 was too much. :D

No I hit fuel cut before it was mapped (I should have made that clear) Now I don't, but was saying my boost gauge is off as fuel as cut cut was indicated at 0.9 bar, before mapping.

Which we all know fuel cut is around 15 psi, so I could then use that to calibrate the gauge, now with the map Im running around 18.5 psi

a map on its own wont give such high boost as that

Hi mate, spend £150 on a wideband then you can turn the boost up monitoring AFRs without melting a piston. You never know it might fuel OK at 22psi?? I changed my injectors on the T4 and I'm fuelling fine at 285bhp on a stock ECU!! Just be careful not to to boot it too early on stock rods!

my afrs at 22psi were spot on

Nice one, well point proven then. My actuator is going on on Monday so going to keep tweaking the boost up unless it goes lean. I love the wideband, saves me taking it to the dyno every time I do a mod!

its not leaning out that the problem its just the rods

Yeah the rods are a pain as you have to remember not to boot it before 3.5k. My old T5 was custom mapped but with the factory fuel cut left in place so it was impossible to boost above 15psi before 4k but would see 21psi after. Took a while to get used to but saved the engine a few times when I got too eager with the throttle.

As far as I can remember the Rica 304/310 maps should be running 1.2 bar, well mine did anyway :)

So give or take I'm about on the money, cheers for that Andy, I'll be removing the mbc as some point, once I get a new working bcs

I think the 304 is only around 16psi, but I'm using the mbc to bump it a little, but as I say I'll be taking it off once I find a new bcs.

It depands on what turbo you are using. Putting a 19T with the 304 can get you to 1.5 bars (or more).
