Hi all hopefully somebody can help.

First off all had a quick look under car today and i reckon it has nivomats, from what i've read on here if its a thick shock with a gatter on the bottom its a nivomat.

The gatter on bottom of shock is ripped to bits and the handling at the back does seem a bit woolly so im thinking of changing rear shocks.

Now the budget wont allow a new set of nivomats and what what ive read its cheaper to change the springs, top mounts, and normal shocks.

Just wondering if i dont want to lower the ride height why do i have to change the springs could i not just change the shock and top mount.

Car is a 1996 855r

Hopefully someone can help

The springs on Nivomat equipped cars is weaker than non-nivomat cars.

If you want to revert back to standard rear shocks you will need different springs and different top mounts.
