Good morning
My project has just developed a misfire, any ideas on were to start? Can smell petrol, it's strange but when I remove the plug lead number 2 (second in from cam cover) it runs slightly better but of course still misfiring, the car is not used so I'm thinking plugs or leads?

Ideas of were to start would be good, cheers

best thing would be to check all plugs,
check distributor cap and rotor,
if you have another lead laying around you can swap it over to each cylinder to see if it improves it or worsens it etc,
if its put engine light on then it will have a fault code that will point you in the right direction of the problem,
check the basics first as it may be a simple problem.

Hi, Thanks for the response, will locate a cap, rotor and some leads and work backwards.

Use genuine leads as I had a problem and that cured it!! Hope you get it sorted
