Hi all
Well i have today taken my v70 back to the dealer with a list of faults for him to sort out
he is getting his mechanic to look at it on monday but if the list is going to cost too much to sort he will give me my old motor and cash back

so i MIGHT be looking for a phase 2 v70 t5
manual prefered but will consider auto
silver or black would be nice but condition is more important than color

budget will be my mazda tribute 4x4 (worth £1500) plus £1250

Thanks Rob
o and close to dorset is a bonus

Come on Martin not everyone is a jammy burger like you. Yours only had a few major problems :)

Oh and stay away from 2000 V70 P2 T5 it's when Ford got hold of them and screwed them around. :eye-poppi

Wow Rob, she that bad?

to be fair no its not but as i have had to take it back to the garage over 100 miles away i have made a list to get everything sorted in one hit
main points are
alarm system fault (suspect siren unit)
cambelt (was told changed)
loosing a bit of coolant (hopefully water pump)
drivers headlight us (aim off and wont adjust)
brake fluid black
cd changer comes up error
wheels rub on full lock
both rear tyres loose pressure (prob wants rims sealing)

so think it will get sorted to be honest just hedging my bets really
and it drives superbly even if its a 2001 auto lol

And t5stealth if he does keep it back your mum will be getting a call
(does she want a cheap to run 4x4 in part ex??)

lol what 4x4 u got,
she was going to trade it in but shes not sure if she wants to drive anymore so she might not even want another car,
the volvo just sits on the drive now,she dont use it,
a bloody waste really as its a tidy car.

main points are
alarm system fault (suspect siren unit) Perfectly normal on this model
cambelt (was told changed) get that done
loosing a bit of coolant (hopefully water pump) mine loses water from the pipe connection to the heater matrix through the bulkhead - I just give it a poke and it stops for a while
drivers headlight us (aim off and wont adjust) get that done
brake fluid black 20 minute job to change
cd changer comes up error clean the lens
wheels rub on full lock not a big job
both rear tyres loose pressure (prob wants rims sealing)get that done

so think it will get sorted to be honest just hedging my bets really
and it drives superbly even if its a 2001 auto lol

It's not a bad job but they might not need the agro. as P2s go, she's pretty healthy ;)

yeah its not a bad list more niggles than anything else
but the dealer is saying there is no money in the car as he has all ready paid out £1300 for the gearbox to be rebuilt (i have the invoice for this so he isnt lying) and the new battery it needed 2 days after i picked it up
and the pair of new michelin tyres it had fitted for its mot

its more a case of if he spends too much on it he will be loosing on it and as a dealer its all about numbers

that said it drives great has nice low miles on it (just clocked over 93k )

will see tuesday what he says

Superb news Rob. Once you get her sorted, it'll be nice to see another P2 at a southern softies meet, if you can make it. I'm looking into something special for next month or April.
