Alarm wont turn off and my car wont start

Hi everyone, i have quite a dilemma with my 1996 850 t5... My remote central locking fob wont open my car but when i open it with my key then open my door the alarm goes off and i cant start my car! Its obviously still immobilised so my first thought was to put new batteries in it... still doesnt work.

Has this happened to anyone before or does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
