The matrix on 940 is a horrible job to do, I had to take the dash out to get to it. The problem is that originally these cars were designed to be LHD so the procedure for removal is undo the pipes and end cap and pull out the matrix. But on the RHD cars the pedal box is in the way and a few ther things, so its virtually impossible to access.

The way I did it was to remove the dash, then take out the complete heater unit and work on it indoors. This allowed me to get to the matrix and also clean the heater unit (which was filthy afer 14 years).

Don't know about other peoples experiences of this, but thats how I've had to do it (twice now on different 940s)
