Its that time again when my front tyres need replacing. I have been running BF Goodridge for the last 13k aprox, and to be fair Ive given them a hard time.
How is everyone else finding tyre life?

Fabia can shed all it's rubber every 5k :) So pretty toss really !

The T5 did 10k on cheap tyres, and even less on Toyo Proxies. I say stick to the BF they sound perfect !

My AVon zz3's have got to 17K with at least 3mm remaining across the inner 3/4, however the outer edge (1 in) is completely bald, but thats because both my tracking and camber is way out. Bl**dy speed bumps.

I think my contis will not thank me for taking them around Bruntingthorpe - even so - I am impressed.

I think 17k is very good , worth having your wheel alliament and tracking done every time for defo.

Mine are around 1.6-1mm on the outer edge ( if im lucky)too much high speed cornering and speed humps, but with all this rain im finding it harder to get the power down. Im skint so Im hoping for a good price on Bf Goodridge again as they seem pretty good.

Very Good, Is the S40 a good bit lighter as that might help you get longer life, I know T5s are notorious for front tyre wear.

not much difference.
our customers get anything between 15 and 30k on average with the t5's

But I bet the average customer hasnt got a mad right foot like mine and rica, I dont think Ive ever managed to get 20 k let alone 30k out of anything front wheel drive with even the slightest hint of power.

some of them are maniacs going on their brake wear.
a guy with a new V70R has had a set of tyres after 3k though !!!
and he is booked in again next week for another set

at the opposite end there is a hire new v70 that got 40k from tyres as all he does is airport runs!!!!!!!

Should I lie and say about 15K or should I tell the truth and say 4K max?

damien, something tells me 4,000 would be about right my friend (if that lol)
i was talking to the fella that did your box last time, and when they put your car on the ramp, the underneath was covered in a layer of rubber. hmmm :haha:

I put a brand new tyre on the front left about 4k ago and it's already smooth on the inside edge, i need my 'tracking' sorted badly

When i say tracking, i mean the fact that i leave number 11's on a regular basis. :troutslap:
