Dead 2001 2.4 T ??

Hi Guys.
A good friend of mine has owned a 2001 2.4 T V70 After him asking me about Volvo`s as he liked my (V70R AWD )

He ownes a lovely 2.4 T Phase 2 which he loves, Bless him he`s 57 !

He broke down for the first time since owning it for a few years.
He was told alternator / fuel pump !

It lost power while driving, and has failed to start since !
Ticks over well, so not snapped belts, just won't fire !

Help me to help him ,as He is Volvo`ed because of me !!

It could be a fuel pump, but No F.C`s I understand to read ?
Any ideas before he spends his pension on it !

Could be fuel pump.if not try coil pack.

without fault codes my best guess would be

1. cam sensor
2. crank sensor
3. immobiliser
