I note that the C30T5 engine has 2521cc which is the same capacity as the engine in my S60R. So, the question is: can my R engine be dropped into a C30, or would I be better getting my nurse to put me back to bed?

I think the S60R engine is physically bigger. Think T5Monkey or someone else knows for sure.

Best route for maximum umph out of the C30 is to bolt on all the RS focus bits - larger injectors, larger FMIC & turbo changes. remapped you can get to 500NM. Then the challenge is getting it onto the floor.

I asked the Bearataur...

He says no due to the ancillaries being different.

I've got shedloads of mods on mine mate feel free to drop by and I'll show u mine!

Stock suspension setup is a bit ruff on the C30/S40/V50

Get it remapped, FMIC and sort the suspension out.

OK, thanks guys. I'll stick with the S60R for the time being. It's cost me enough money, I might as well get some use out of it. Appreciate the guidance though :)

So bearataur.

I have a question, with many Eaton M45's floating about what's stopping any forced induction in the c30 range from dropping the turbo off and adding the supercharger?
This question applies to petrol and Diesel engines?

Iirc the block is physically bigger on the s60r as well. They narrowed the c30 engine by 40mm (and focus) making them even more prone to cracked liners.

Why lose the turbo? Just do what Colin's done to his 850, and compound charge it.

Fair point,
On the Ic side, which is the best from volvo's parts bin to fit. I'm looking to keep costs relatively low (so he bolts an SC to it) and compatibility sorted
