Stereo says "off" after battery disconnected failed code attempt

Hi my cd head unit says off and won't let me enter the code, it was entered wrong a few times.

Any help appreciated

Leave it with the ignition turned to I for a couple of hours.

Don't these headunit's lock themselves after a few wrongly entered codes? I am sure you have to leave the ignition switched on for something like half an hour to clear it..? Could be wrong though.

THanks guys when I take the small person out tomorrow for her daily sleep I'll leave the ignition on, she usually snoozes for an hour whilst i game of thrones.

I read minimum 2 hours and if you input the wrong codes again 3 times, the 2 hours then increases.I did rthe very same thing but have changed the HU for an Alpine but I shall still need to get in to the HU to get out a CD!
