Hi all having decided my brakes are not so good, i have contacted one of the biggest VW only breakers in the UK!! He is prepared to measure his stock of calipers for us.

I need the info of what to exactly ask him, is this correct??

ATE 57 Caliper, with 106mm mounting holes centre to centre on the caliper hanger?

He has also hinted at a deal on multiple calipers purchased.

its the carriers that are more important, finding the 106mm bolt centres. I'm certainly in if he find out what they are

so its just the 106mm centres i need to ask about?

we will need the calipers that fit them, but from what i figured there quite easy to get its just the elusive 106mm caliper carriers no-one seems to be able to find in the first place

Discs are 336mm x 30mm xc90 items. I tried virtually every model audi and vw setup I could but in the end made my own carriers. I sold them to a guy in the States in the end.

Could you get away with fitting these brakes with just 17's??

These brakes fit snuggly under my 17 Volans..

But I'm having new pads in tomorrow and I'm measuring the carriers and looking for part numbers off my callipers, to help solve this mystery

which discs were you using alan, nealevo said 316mm and you said 336mm both xc90. I only ask as i would much like them to fit under my titans, if both do then ill go bigger. I have access to a machine shop down here, they made carriers up for my locost kit car (which isn't locost at all if you've built one).

I also have the facilities of a fantastic industrial welder (person) would it no be possible to weld up the carrier and move / re-drill further in / out the mounting points?

Does anybody have a hub complete with disc? S I can go to the local scrappy, they let you sort through the calipers

Also which disc is it 316 or 336?
