Hi all,

Just got my renewal quote off Tesco for my 1998 C70 T5 GT, over £1000 ..... which seems a bit on the steep side to say the least, especially as I'm 36 with 7yrs ncb. Which insurance companies does everyone use? My postcode is L34 (a Liverpool one, though I actually live in St. Helens .... thanks Post Office) which I understand may be bumping it up a bit, but it still seems way over the odds. Are there any alternatives to the main insurers, especially as I'm only doing around 6000 miles pa.

Cheers,
Chrisall.

Elephant, confused.com and Esure seem to be a good bet. I pay £700 fully comp for my S70 @ 24 years old and 1 years NC

and Halifax, who use Esure and First Alternative as options.

One of the tips I got, was to check my best quote against the AA. Shame they couldn't get within £500 of it though.

I am with Privilege....paying £432 fully comp.
33yrs full no claims.
Car is meant to be garaged but cant actually fit it in due to all the junk .
Proabably go over to Tesco's at renewal though as they did a really good deal when i was insuring my Skyline.

Hi, we have a C70T5 auto, I have 8yrs NCD and nil points....however the other half has CD10 (undue care) and IN10 (no insurance) and 6 points too..(she was naughty..lol) the best quote we got with all that was £604 fully comp with Norwich Union... not bad with a dodgy post code and parked on the street...... hope this helps.

My Insurance is due on the 22nd, I was quoted £630 fully comp renewal through Elephant which I thought wasn't too bad, but then I realised the cheeky sods had quoted me for a 10mth NCB bonus accelerator policy. I've managed to get it down to £532 via Admiral for a full 12mth policy, which I don't think I'm going to beat as most other companies wanted £1200+.

I'm 26, 4 yrs NCB, living in a high risk postcode, car (850R) garaged overnight.

I've got a 1999 C70T5GT Auto - elephant were by far the cheapest at £487 for the year fully comp - I'm 38 with three years no claims (used to have a company car so having to earn my NCB back!)

Elephant also do a bonus accelerator where you have a 10 month policy but they credit you at the end with a full years bonus.

They beat anyone else's quote hand down.

Esure won't touch me - 27, 6 years NCB.. even First Alternative wouldn't give me a quotation.

My insurance is up for renewal now, and everywhere's bl00dy expensive (£900+). I wonder if it's those 2 SP30's? :slap:

I know this subject has been done to death, just i would add this renewal quote from my current insurer was £860,did a search on Autotrader AA came back with £598 rang my insurer to cancel the policy gave them a chance to beat the AA quote they did .
