As per the title, I cleaned her today and realised that she is actually white. 3 cars cleaned today, the 850, my wife's Micra and my Omega 2.5V6. Outside temperature of 3 degrees made things interesting.

Looks good! I do like the idea of a white car, but i dread to think how dirty it gets!!

What size wheels tyres you got on her? My only crit would be that i think it needs lowering.

just pick up my 73,000 mile t5 854, doesn't look as clean as yours, but for £600 im not too fussed, and its only a spare car. But yours does look nice in white.

White is a lot easier on the eye when not completely clean than darker colours, it never really looks that bad.

215/35/18s with spacers. You can't lower it and still expect to run 18s with decent cross section tyres unless you get the arches rolled. I don't want to lose the practicality of standard height by putting Coilovers on.

Thanks mate. I can't rest unless its mechanically perfect with regard to suspension, steering, engine, drivetrain. I dread to think how much I'd spend on a £600 T5

Sponge? wash your mouth out sir ;) Pre rinse then, two bucket method with wash mits and grit guards then final rinse and dry with waffle weave I'll have you know.

Thanks Martin, I'll most likely keep her unless I get a good offer or a good swap offer.

I still have the original 16s in the garage, I might refurb them and put winter tyres on. She ain't going lower.

OK, sorry for mentioning the sp--ge!! LOL. Remember my other name is Spongebob Foampants! Your wash method sounds very impressive anyway, but I'm a bucket and car shampoo, hosepipe and Flunky man! I never go to a car wash.

Jetwash and Automatic car washes never get your car clean. You always get a better result by hand.

You can get a cheap wash mitt from Tesco, In-Store or Poundstretcher for about £1. It doesn't swirl grit around your paintwork like a sponge.

Yeah, I get ya. Personally i dont like the gap between the tyre and arch but hey, it's not my car!

With regards to the hand/auto wash, I like the convenience of the pressure washer at work! So much faster, and is this weather, no cold fingers!

Lower can be better... mine rides OK did have to drop from 18's to 17's it's a proper drivers machine now mind you.

My Leon Cupra was dropped about 60mm on Weitech coilovers. It handled like it was on rails but there's always a tradeoff with practicality. It's fine for some cars but I'm not mad keen on dropped 850s, doesn't really suit them in my opinion.

Aforementioned Leon:
