depends on the size of the garrett mate

My turbo has had it.So im looking at converting to garret using a t3 flange, how ever i think the turbo off the sierra cosworth is to small they use a t3 as well as a t34.My car is off the road at the minute now because of the blown turbo.Id be perfectly happy and content with a 300bhp mark

16T with the correct supporting mods will do 300BHP

well i used a t35 hybrid on mine but you will have to change the rods because you will bend them in a instant mate.jamest5r has the turbo on his car so he might be able to give you better feed back.a t3 is about the same size as a 18/19t mate and can happierly run at 24 psi .then you have the t28 hybrid from turbo technics witch max out at about 22 psi but give good power.the 16t/18t/19t can be adapted to take the bigger 20g compressor wheel and be rebuilt at the same time for around 350 pounds and will kick you to around 300 flywheel power if turned up with over surporting mods.

What do you rekon to the t25 do you think its to small.T28 turbo seems quiet common as well,do the garret turbo lick in earlier than the mitsubishi turbo?

t25 way to small t28 is alright but a t3 and above then you will start to push some power mate, but then you are talking custom water and oil lines and downpipe and rods possibly but might get away with a t3 with no rods

A T34 with 0.63 housing is good for 380bhp. T34 0.48 housing is good for 330bhp. You can pick them up for 300ish or under. Will bolt straight to T5 manifold but you will need to mod your down pipe and water/oil feeds.

no its starts with the smaller number and goes bigger ,i have a t38 hybrid on my 940 but im going to up the compressor housing to a t4 with resert etc and the biggest wheel we can get in the t4 housing.but keep the t38 exhaust housing because my car is on full boost by 2800rpm.this should give you some ideas what you can do.but check for clearance of the bulkhead for bigger turbos.thats why the turbo jamest5r was designed to fit with clearance of the bulkhead.

turbos are only laggy if you dont sort the breathing to go with it.ive had t28/t35/t38 and found none of those laggy .

I would love to tell you what the T35 hybrid i have is like but you will have to wait a while lol, it does start spooling at 2200rpm so i dont think lag is going to be a problem :)

when i had the turbo fitted to my v70 it was a wild turbo and the car went like a wild cat and i was only running 1.34 bar threw it.james will be running alot more boost than i did proberly around 1.6 to 1.7 bar were that turbo is happy sitting

No, alot less than it's true worth lol, but Smithy is a very good mate of mine :)

You will have to ask him what he paid for it brand new as i dont know the exact figure but i do know he left his V70 with Turbo technics and told them to design a turbo that would fit with a s60r mani and work best with the engine ie minimal lag and the result was a T35 hybrid the exhaust side being a bored out nissan pulsar housing.

The Garrett T04e model journal bearing turbos are excellent buys for very good prices. Dpending on what trim you buy aswell they can flow very large amounts of air.

Holset HX30 is perfect. They are usually around £150 used from America. Hardly any lag and good for 400bhp. They are solid turbos designed for 2bar all day long on a truck. The trouble is finding one. The Jap tuning scene swallows them all up!!

Holsets are good but trying to get one to fit the rear of a t5 will be tricky though i would go t3/t34 or 19t with 20g hybrid system then you will get somewhere near what you want.but with that power in mind you will need rods and pistons mate
