I was chatting to another southern member yesterday and thought that, with the success of the essex meets and talk of midlands and Scottish meets, its about time us south coast members put down our shandys and came out of our dark, quiet corner and had a little meet of our own.

LOL! Those reviews are unbelievable!!! I only live up the road from The Vine and have been there a lot over the years. To be fair the service can be a bit hit and miss with the food delivery on occasion, but I've always found the food to be decent, and they've just renewed the menu which includes a big fat square burger which is deeeeeeelicious!

There's plenty of car park space and its a decent size inside so it makes a good venue for a meet. And near some decent stretches of road for any 'test drives'!

Something worth mentioning... There's 2 areas to the car park, one at the front and one round the back by the Premier inn. Normally the front car park is choca block. IF it is, it may be an idea to park round the back, if we want to get all the cars together, seems like there might be a lot of us, which'll be good!

Just google-earthed the area, there's a golf course which could be good for photos or doughnuts ;) some very nice little B roads about too, almost a circuit...:) Any body else wanna confirm attendance?

Gave mine a spruce - up yesterday (as much as I can with a shed like mine!) found a bloody nail in the rear tyre, not in a place that can be repaired too grrr. Put a can of tyreweld in it. Bloody thing still has about 5mm tread on it so I'm not about to bung 85 quid on a new one just yet! :( Looking forward to meeting some new faces, may be bringing a mate with me, he drives a corrolla but it's not his fault so go easy on him lol.

Dalhousie had a set of seats in his car, he'd just picked up. Had to evict one to get in ;) there were loads of bits strewn about, tools, scuttle panel etc.

Nah, Doesn't matter much. Not too bad at the minute as I'm still on sick leave until the 26th so it gives me something to do. The trudge up to the last one was okay though. :)

I think it wouldn't be a bad thing, moving the meet about. Nominate a place every time etc.
I mentioned earlier in this thread, the Bournemouth Air Festival. I may, repeat MAY, be able to get free parking for all in attendance (no promises, if not I can at least get one end of a beach carpark sectioned - off for us). It could be quite good as a family meet. Watch the planes and entertainment poke about some Volvos, disassemble Steve's car again etc.

The idea of one is, without a doubt, a good one but the logistics of getting everybody together in one place at one time is frightning.

The meet at york raceway happens every year around the end of may.

I'd like to meet some more memebers from down south, but as all your meets are over 2hours away, its proving difficult.

If there was enough interest for a santapod meet, i'd go.
