Steering seems lumpy 850 T5 auto

This is hard to describe but when you turn the wheel it is if there is a lump in turning circle. Not smooth, heavy even. The car has only done 66k and has hardly been used. Any ideas.

A bit of a silly question, have you checked the fluid?

Fluid levels seem ok

Before investigating the rack, have a look at track rods - inner and outer, also look for uneven wear on the tyres.

I had the same on mine. Was fine after I changed a Wishbone.
