hi all............maybe a silly question but what can i use to clean maf sensor, been told that carb cleaner is too strong and will damage it.......is this true or am i just being fed a load of bulls**t ......your help greatly appreciated as always.

Put half a can of carb cleaner on mine, in bursts, so it didn't get too cold. Immediate improvement.

Electrical Contact cleaner Buddy usually a spray, (big rotch) recently just done his.

I've lent him a spare MAF sensor to try as i think it's either that or bad fuel causing his missfire.

Best to use isopropyl alcohol (ipa) - it's available from Maplin, RS components etc.

Ipa leaves absolutely no residue.

I used carb cleaner, Defo ran a lot smoother and the revs don't hang as much changing gear when it's cold now.
