Is there any way to get my wastgate to hold a vac without buying a new turbo & wastegate? Ive been told the problem is with the vac actuater & this only comes with the turbo.

I phoned my local main volvo garage who said it only came with the turbo.

That sounds about right. Stick a wanted ad up here. Won't take long before you have one. If your sure that's what you need. :)

Tbh that doesn't surprise me as finding the turbo actuator as easy as it sounds isn't actually when your trying to find it on the parts catalogue and most would give up the search and quote you for a turbo as quite rightly they do indeed come with the turbo... That said they can be found on the parts listings and are available seperately from Volvo you just need to ask the right dealer ;)

The wastegate actuator works on pressure not vacuum. You can attach a compressor with an adjustable output to the actuator input. The standard opening pressure is around 3psi, you adjust the actuator arm to start opening the wastegate at this pressure.

If yours is a manual, You'll want one for a 16T.

That's one with a straight rod for an angle flange ME7 DP and turbo, you need one with a swan neck rod for the 850 straight flange.
