I'm guessing you mean exhaust mani? the standard has a flatter esction to the internal venting thingy to the turbo. The R one has a less tortuous, rounded path to the turbo. :)

awould the R manifold fit in the same place as the stock t5 manifold using the std 15t and downpipe

I'm pretty sure that on P2s they're a straight swap.

I'm sure they do, not heard anything to say they don't.

Why use it with a 15g though?

Not ready for an upgrade yet lol.Mine is the 1995 850.I thought the manifold wouldnt be a direct fitment

I have an ME7 on mine, it fitted without any problem, the car is a '95 too

if you gotta ME7 then the R will fit too ;)

After all, the block is the same.

As above, there are two versions early and late.

Early oneslook the same as the normal 850 t5's with a Y shape outlet.

Later ones are recessed and are T shaped outlets with larger bores, thats what ive fitted to my 855 t5 running a 15G.

I have very very little turbo lag after fitting this as well as whites, unos mbc, and up rated pump.

I know, but I had a modified manifold anyway, I'm using a Garrett turbo.

so there are 3 different manifolds? any one have a picture of the third one?
by the way the first three line are quoted from merc85. don't know how to do proper quotes.

Looks quite a difference in flow there between the 2, does anybody have a R manifold kicking about ?

So a 15t turbo would bolt straight to the r manifold then?

My brother has a auto 850r which are fitted with 15g's as standard and he has a s60r manifold fitted no problems or modding needed.

the reason ive been asking is that i thought i might build a tubular manifold thats simular to stock but less restrictive. dont ask me why. i have no intensions of changing mine i just get board and fancy small projects every now and again

I am actually thinking of doing the same thing as I am lucky as I have no clearance issues as my engine is in a rear engine application.

I was asked back in September if I was willing to race there again later in the year but I have heard nothing since so I guess that is not going to happen now before xmas.

we normally race in February there so hopefully that will go ahead and we are hoping they will allow juniors next time so my son can have a go on the shale in his car.

I will let you know as soon as I know
