I'm slightly embarrased to say that I checked my OEM ones this week. The whole set of disks and pads were replaced 38,000 miles ago and I still have a decent thickness of pad left on the front, enough for another 10,000 miles! Rears probably only have 4-5000 miles before needing replacement.

Of course, I never track my car, mileage is mostly motorways and I guess judging by lack of wear I don't use my brakes as much as some - it's an auto too!!

I regularly review my brake pads/disc condition and often think "are these even wearing" that said I don't do a vast amount of mileage probably only 20,000 since renewal 3+ years ago mostly average braking with only occassional harsh application. Thats with DS2500 front pads but the rest as Volvo intended so quite impressive for manufacture standard linings.

depends how you drive it,
2 identical cars can use brakes at a diffrent rate with 2 diffrent drivers.
