If you get your codes read, It should tell you which cylinder is doing it, then you can check plug, coil pack etc.

If you have a pre 1996 car, it may not be able to tell you... others on the forum will know:)

2005 will tell you> Won't tell you why tho so it'll be plug, coil pack (£47 from gsf) or maybe maf?

the worst thing is it was fine untill it when to arnold clark for body repairs. my car came back worse than whenit left. ill fit new plugs anyway then take it from there

Might be worth taking it back to AC and asking why.

could it be a bad earth or something that they might have disconnected or not refitted properly which could be causing problems!!

I've always found that taking the plug cover off and removing replacing each coil pack cable shows the missing cylinder

Swapping them about should show up the dodgy within 4 moves...
For you chess players out there...;)

if i was to back to arnold clark it would result in me ending up in a cell and a jbh charge. it dosnt misfire on tick over just under load. if i build up the revs slowly its fine.

its always had a tiny misfire when cold but only for first 100 yards or somthing. ill look into once the insurance has dicieded what happening about my repairs
