i know its not going to be hugely economical but on a run im returning approx 25.5-27 mpg combined motorway and london driving.......... is this about right?

my work pay me a fuel allowance.......... but its not enough and im well out of pocket because of it!! but tobe honest with what they allow then i would need a silly little oil burner

the most i've ever got out of my T-5 is 30mpg, & that was on a long run & tucking in behind the trucks lol

my S60 D5 is doing 52.3mpg at the minute according to the trip computer. I only paid £2500 for it so definitely recommend looking into one if you want fuel economy

What you're getting sounds about right, although, recently I had an ecu update from a main stealer, thrown - in buck shee with a new DIM and I'm getting 27-35 mpg on a similar run. Fuel, air, oil filter change and engine flush will help a bit. Working on economical driving helps... boot 2nd to 20mph then straight to 4th and 5th at 30 (providing you don't try to accelerate in 5th from 30 and just plod along with cruise on).
hope this helps mate.

Sounds about on the Money.

I get about 34 at 70mph on the motoway and over 39 at 65mph.

I try not to calculate it when it's urban! too scary

using cruise control uses more fuel, especially uphills

Not on mine it don't, honestly :)
And I wouldn't recomend going uphill at 30 in 5th any-hoo.

i do alot of (crappy) fuel economy training in my job, (so boring) my truck gets monitored by computer and i get told off for using cruise control uphills

watching the Stobart series & they monitor the fuel economy, the drivers get a pay bonus if they drive economically

and i bet they use less fuel than the ovlov!!
the cruise control on mine usually make the econemy better on mine! cos its smooth acceleration! not me stamping on the pedal to get it up the hills! and im coasting down the hills too!!

Doesnt the new focus rs produce 29-30 mpg? and that has 300bhp how do they do that

Smarter map I think, I just had an ecu update from a main stealer and not only is it loads smoother but I'm getting an extra 6-8 mpg. I expect the same technology is being used for the RS.

after the rica 304, my fuel economy went stupidly worse (even when im not driving hard) and i think its running rich as i can smell it when stood behind the car on idle.....

I think i read somewhere that the 304 does/can make them run lean......?

a bit contradictory that statement

its just when i got the rica...my fuel economy is worse than before.....when im cruising on the motorway for example, a slight touch even on the acc and it drops to about 12.x mpg (on the straight)

of course if i drive it hard, i would expect it to drop but is it normal to drop so low even on the slightest acc?

my 850 t5 auto...with rica 305 on did 19/20 around town...12 if i was in a hurry and 23 on a run...its a heavy car and your asking it to get a move on...i think 15 - 20 is quite good to be honest

all depends on how much fun you want to have while spending your hard earned cash lol Less mpg = more fun more mpg = boring! lol
but figures sound reasonable good to me.

My V50 t5 has never averaged less than 26 mpg, it normally sits between 28-31 mpg mainly urban although I have seen 35-40 mpg on a run regularly! It will do 50 mpg if you cruise in 6th at 50 mph! If economy is an issue concider a D5 and get 37-57MPG.
