at a guess id say the heater control panel,
its an electronic item,if you can get codes read might show something,
but the control panel is over 500 quid and has to be programmed by dealers with software update,
but thats a guess,as i say,get codes read,it might be something as simple as a relay or sensor etc,

Hmmm, Mines just done the same. I had the heater matrix replaced on Thursday and I noticed this on Friday. Have check water level and all was fine. Will pop back to garage on Monday and see what they say.

First read the fault codes, if any? if none stored:
then i would get 'live' readings and check that the ECU temp (read from the Coolant temp sensor) is the same as the temp guage in the car.

I believe coolant temp sensor is multi function and controls fan operation via the ECU.
