ABS fault?

Hi guys, looking for some help. When braking sometimes the brake pedal goes stiff and there is a vibration through the pedal that you can hear. you can also hear the vibration sometimes when not braking, any ideas what this could be.
1997 v70r , 124000 miles

if the pedal goes stiff then could be a leak from servo or vac pipe to servo,

Yeah could be Pump, Does it do it at low or high speed?

has it got abs light on the dash illuminated,
if it was abs fault i think it would put light on,
if no light on then its probably a mechanical fault,ie air leak,
or is this problem only when you brake really hard cos that would be the abs working,which would be normal,
maybe get the codes read 1st to see if its telling you anything,

Had this on my last abs ecu i had, it made a funny buzzing noise, even with the brakes not on, the guy that repaired it said it was the worst he had ever repaired,
i have it back now from repair, if you want to plug my one in for the cost of postage you are more than welcome, at least then you will know it won't be the ecu if the problem still is still there.

thanks for the info guys, the pads and discs are ok, the abs light doesn't come on but it is working, it only does it at low speed and i dont have to touch the brakes for the buzzing noise to start

abs ring maybe broken where the sensor reads from,
