It's an open invitation to everyone and no one I've come across through this site will judge or criticize you, seriously, regardless of car condition or tune. We all love Volvo's here....Unless they're red in which case some over exaggerate there performance slightly... ;) lol

Don't worry mate, You can park next to my dull, multi-coloured, not-quite-tuned, high mileage ex-plod lump. In a dark corner of the car park where nobody will go cos they're all busy looking at noisy volvos with big, shiny wheels and boost gauges! ;)

Your appreciation is respected as always Emlyn thanks and your right if I decided to bring it along I think it would make front cover......

Perhaps something along the lines of......

" ANPR is ACE " ... as untaxed vehicle uncovered at popular car meet location.... :deal: lol

So unfortunately the little piece of paper in the windscreen is preventing the cars appearance this time I am afraid... I however will still be coming, just in a different car :)

After reading all that all I can say is I never thought I would hear the day that a member of a car enthusiast forum would place "ANPR" and "Ace" in the same sentence!

It will be good to see you nethetheless... is it a BMW this company car?

Forgot to mention any members bringing a non-Swedish car will not be given access to the car park, there's the road or a very small enclosure beside the main car park for them

I am glad you enjoyed it. BTW C70 GT was the top spec C70 so anyone sticking an 'R' after it has issues.

There was also the T5 "collection" which was the rag top's swan song prior to the hard top starting in 2006.

It was a little on the long side for a breakfast & a chat but I enjoyed myself. Good to meet the newer members. I will look forward to seeing some of you at WD40 in February. Which reminds me I must book my own spot.

Frankie you were sorely missed - particularly so about the 198bhp thing. Such a shame.

I got there about quarter to eleven. There was a small issue with a stranded skoda - which the marshalls thought was Swedish??

I don't think I was too kind to the owner despite his ignition issues. I think my precise words were "Wayne (Judgeninja) help me push this ££££box off the car park"

IT was 298 ffs lol if the 850 had better bumpers I'd have brought that along,

Nice to catch up again folks.

Good too to finally meet martinrpreachey, Slomo and a few others but to name a few.

Certainly some interesting cars there today and a very tidy few Saabs and 1800 Volvos.

Here are a few shots I managed to grab, poor quality but hey ho!

Because its not? Would you put a D5 badge on a 2.0D? if it had the same toys as the D5 and looked the same? To people who know the smallest thing about C70s, they'll think "They didn't make an R version of the C70, try harder next time", to anyone else its just another old ginger Volvo.

Who was it in the Silver C70 who kept gunning it?

Thats because most of the 850s have been broke or are sat up somewhere not working, not many left on the roads now!

You could argue that the prancing moose isn't trying to make the car into something it's not. Not that I'm that bothered. You could stick bunny ears to a car and somebody will love and others will hate it. It's all a matter of taste. The father in law, who used to own my car always tries to talk me out of upgrades and mods as he still has a soft spot for the car (and rightly so) but with all the work I put in getting it up to scratch, he knows I'm doing it more good than harm and supports me in a roundabout kinda way.

A stock car is very unstable and unsafe during high speeds. So I tune cars to be safer. That's my philosophy with car tuning. The faster you go, the safer the car has to be. The car's body kit, suspension and braking all have to work together to create a safe car.

Did you see mine? Bloody haggered shed of a thing, If I put 19" pegs on it, and an R bumper and a 19T with a remap, It will be a better car, but not original and could be deemed as trying to be something it's not by some and loved by others (mainly me:)) Everybody will have their opinion, some will voice that opinion more diplomatically than others but we all have a common interest - big, fast, Swedish cars that aren't Saabs.

I'm all for modifying obviously, and if someone wants to stick an R badge on a car that didn't have one from factory or if someone wants to change to a GT3076 turbo that also wasn't from factory I don't see an issue or to be honest a difference, its all about customisation.

I find it funny that for some think its acceptable to change everything on a car as long as you don't stick on an R badge yet Volvo themselves stick an R badge across there whole model range whether the cars T6 or D2 powered.

Anyway Rob, we met and did I come across as a person that would have an issue with a modified car?
