Tailgate rattle

Help!

I've been trying to sort my tailgate rattle for some time now and it's doing my head in ! I striped the plastic cover so it's not that, it seems like every time you go over a bum the sides of the tailgate are hitting the body work.

Does anybody else have this issue ? It was the same on my last v70, i have replaced the centre catch and have adjusted it tight (so you can hardly close the lid) and loose where the tailgate isn't touch the rubbers on each side, tight is better but still doesn't cure it completely.

With the tailgate shut is there any movement in it? Have you tried pulling pushing it?. If the striker is tight are the rubber bump strips still in place?. If youve tried everything else then maybe it's time to replace the striker and catch, these will wear over time.

do you not just need the tailgate repair kit? pfv do them for about £12.

Naw he's already removed the tailgate trim to eliminate it from the process...

Thanks guys, think ive sorted it. I re-adjusted the center catch, moved the rubbers on the corners out as far as they would go, also found a some loose plastic behind the locking bit which i carefully ripped off.
