Had a look at the car today as there is lots of oil in the coolant system (Oil cooler gone i think) Upon inspection am i right to say its cheaper buying a new radiator with the cooler built into it or faff around taking the cooler off?

Suggestions welcome as i need to get it sorted this weekend

Can the cooler be detached from the radiator? or is it litrally unremovable to replace?

You chopped the pipes up, and fitted your own?

you can fit a seperate aftermarket one like Claymore, but you'll still need to replace your radiator as its already split & you'll loose coolant

the stock oil cooler is built internally into the radiator & can't be physically removed

I had no choice, my radiator is fitted up-side-down, but there's no reason why it couldn't be done to a standard radiator.

As Pedro says, the rad is toast, so the easyest option would be to replace like for like.

So basically i need a new/second hand rad and the cooler would be build into it and i cant just buy a new cooler/aftermarket cooler and mount in a different location?

You can get a rad without the oil cooler built in and use an aftermarket cooler, or you can get the rad with the cooler built in.

Well i got two options there but the easiest i think would be to buy original radiator because its like for like rather than buying a rad without a cooler then buying an aftermarker cooler and messing around making up piping for it. In my opinion aftermarket coolers are solely for running higher boost and replacing orignal ones.
