Think it depends on the year for some reason.
My 94 had 150's and my year newer model had 160's.

Because the newer ones will go past 150 no problem

no matter what turbo a stock ecu won't let you go over 155mph, i'm in that category but my speedo only goes to 140mph anyway lol

I managed 147 MPH on the speedo out of an 850 T5 with a 15g and almost 150 out of a stock V70 T5 P1, I have seen 160 MPH on the speedo of both my 70 series but neither were standard.

They are all set to 'over read' anyway

Mine was on a completly deresticted autobaghn and yes most speedos over read by some margin my 1st P1 would be doing a genuine 156 MPH at 160 speedo, My Audi S4 was very accurate doing 158 MPH at 160 on the speedo both cars had a bit more in them. My Jag XJR V8 would pull all the way to 165 speedo despite being limited to 155 lol.
But yes my car never exceeds the speed limit by more than 10% on british roads

my first t5 an me7 v70 saw 159mph indicated on the speedo, fastest one i've ever owned

standard 850's are limited to 155mphwell not to boast but i did manage 155 speedo reading,on a closed road of course, and only reason it didnt do more is because my heart was beating at the same speed :) and i basically bottled it :( i reckon with a bigger set of dangly bits i could hit the magical 160 ;)

Right the official answer is as follows. All cars pre 1995 inclusive on the 95 and below model versions included 150mph clocks. All 1996 models and this may include cars manufactured in late 1995 came with 160mph clocks.

The method of determining the version is whether you have an OBD diagnostic port. If so its a 1996 model.

the 4 at the end means 4 door (ie. saloon), 855 is an estate.

When I had my T5-R it listed the car as a T5-R under the model in the V5C. My current T5 is listed as a T5 GLT under model. Although I have heard some dont list the exact spec types.

As for age mine is August 95 also so yes its a 96 model :cuckoo:

its a normal T-5 then. Mine being an early 1994 T-5 is called a 850 turbo on the logbook, this changed to T-5 about the same time they changed to the normal intercooler pipes, not sure if the petrol caps are marked up the same but it would say T-5R if it was a real one

My old 1995 - 850 auto had a 160mph speedo, and stuggles to do 150mph, I now have a 1994 850 t5 Manual, with a remap limiter removed boosting 18psi she has a 150mph clock and quite happliy reads past that.

How accuate dunno.
