2005 V70 2.4 T5 disc size?

A chap by my work has a 2005 2.4 turbo V70, he popped down our local motor factors on the weekend to get discs and pads, they gave him what showed on the system, 305mm discs, he's tried to fit them this morning and they are totally different to what he's got on there, He's taken off 316mm Discs, he went back to the motor factors and they don't even list a 316mm for his car, Is this an upgrade from the factory? if so what are the discs and pads off?
