Im planning on fitting my new intercooler on the weekend and im going to bin my aircon system at the same time, has anyone done a guide to doing it or is there anything I should look out for? I know I will have to change my Aux belt, Ive phoned my local motor factors and they said there is a choice of 2 belts for non-aircon, One is 1250mm long and the other is 1270mm long, which one do I need?

There are slightly different sized Crank pulley's on later models compared to earlier so the size difference in belt does help when fitting if its new.

I have put a lot of time, effort & money refitting Aircon back into my silver T5 after it was hacked out by someone… with little skill- bolt cropped through metal pipework instead of just disconnecting the dryer. Resulted in us having to replace the hard pipes that run round the back of the block.

It is perfectly possible with some tweaking to run a large intercooler with the aircon rad in place. My intercooler is the one that Kalmar Union sell.

I found the 850 to be a sweat box without the aircon.

I'd agree with that! But, mines still being removed as it doesn't work :(

I got my belt from Volvo, they looked it up, and supplied a belt for a non-equipped car.

I have the bigger core & still run aircon. I admit my engine layout is somewhat different but I believe it is possible to retain it.

i'm still used to the complaints (nearly said ear ache lol), used to drop her lighter thru the 5th slot on the bucket seat. Found about 5 lighters & a bottle opener under the passenger seat when i stripped BT out lol

Can you stop replying please I am trying to catch up.

I like my aircon - rather useful for clearing the screen I find.
