Hi,

I need a new egr sensor for my 2.4 D5 but the shop need the part number to order one.

Can anyone help please? I want to order before they take my car to pieces to replace it.

Thanks.

In which case, you can remove and clean yourself - i've done it on my alfa it is very easy and doesn't need replacing!

Also would this create the black smoke and little loss of power as this is what was found on the diagnostics?

thanks

If it's your first time under the bonnet, ensure you have the right tools and plenty of time just in case. I would personally have a large industrial roll of paper towel and a box of latex gloves.

You could disconnect the battery as a precaution whilst you are working under there too. Take pictures as you go along in case you forget where stuff came from. Once said part is removed clean it dry as much as you can before using small amounts of WD40 for example - some others may recommend something else though.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the help mate, I've decided to get it repaired, get an mot and service done at a garage as I would like all weekend to try it but I'm working and it looks like a big challenge for a first attempt under the bonnet.

Cheers mate
