Was out tonight when i lost power no warning,no bangs or rattles. Was traveling on m-way about 70mph.Then pulled over, lifted the bonnet and nighmare,Timing belt snapped.....So we all know the outcome here it's gonna cost a lot...Then someone told me that Volvo T4's have a fail safe engine so the valves don't get bent when the belt snaps????
Is someone pulling my leg??

There's only one way to find out, the head does need to come off - you could do this yourself however - get it skimmed and replaced any valves and replace all gaskets, belt, pump etc etc....

You could be lucky. There are various folks on the forums who have had a cambelt go and no bent valves. Seems to be luck of the draw!

Ali is selling his highly modified block - you could just save yourself a whole load of mods money & take that. It's a steal at the price he is asking.
