hi all am new here as just aquired a 1999 s80 t6 about 2 weeks ago.

anyway its done 127k and there are messages poping up on the dash -

airbag needs service
stc service required - comes up here and there
abs -= this is now allways on and sometimes theres a horrible noise as if the pump is going crazy and the pedle vibrates when you use it.
emissions system needs service
the idleing of the car has decided to go crazy - started off just a bit up and down from say 700rpm upto 1k and today on the way home it was going up and down from 1100 to 200 rpm and stalled everytime is stoped at a junction .

ive heard these are money pits and that there's lots of issues with these but can anyone shed any lighton her ???

by sounds of it a full service is needed and having the intervals reset via the correct type of code reader.

abs- the abs pump has failed or the ecu for it has, you will need new ecu for it or have the pump reconditioned if its shot. short term cure maybe unplug the wiring from the abs pump and brakes will work fine but could lock up under heavy braking.

the revs going up and down is most likely the air flow meter, unplug this and if the revs stay constant you will need a new one, and get a genuine one i would say as aftermarket ones don't last 2 mins.
if it still revs up and down with the air flow meter unplugged then check for a split vaccum hose/ pipe or the electronic throttle housing may need a dam good clean.

hope this helps you or gives you some idea.

if getting car serviced and guessing she is auto being a T6 as i've searched for ever for a manual one (did they even make one?) have the gearbox oil and filters changed as well
