hey folks

i was wondering if ecu's in the T5 model are interchangeable?

i understand that a Manual Wont Fit An Auto, but it works the other way..

but i am wondering if the ecu has a transponder in the key for an imobiliser?

i.e. i buy an ecu from a car which is the same age and transmission, is it going to work?

thanks :)

the reason om asking is because my damn car keeps pleasing itself when it wants to start and it only seems to start if i unplug ecu for few mins and try it again. :(

My auto did this had to wait half an hour to try and start it ended up in the scrapyard
IF ITS AN AUTO MORE LIKELY THE AUTO ECU IMO
ALSO I DONT THINK YOU NEED THE KEY AS WELL DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS BUT THEY SEEM TO SWAP AND SELL THEM WITH NO KEY I THINK THE ONLY REASON YOU NEED THE KEY ON SOME CARS IS ITS IMMOBLISED VIA FUEL PUMP

An ecu from a auto car will work on a manual car, not sure manual to auto?????

no need to change keys etc.......

could try leaving your battery disconnected over night to clear it then plug back in in the morning

The immobiliser is separate to the ecu, so the ecu is not coded to the car.

Hi there, my Re-mapped ecu from my 1995 obd2 auto T5 works fine in my obd1 T5 manual.
