Hi there, i now own a c70 2.0 lpt. I really like the car but feel it's a little under powered. I have been thinking about gettting it re-mapped. Has anyone done this and with what results. Also what should i expect to gain power wise and how much should this cost.

Thanks

if yours is a 2.4T its 193bhp not 240bhp, even if its been mapped it will only be 235ish

To be honest i think i'd struggle to find one better and with as few miles. Mine has only done 67'000mls with full volvo service history. It's almost mint and has the later alloys.

Remaps on the LPT engines tend to give more (or have that feel) as the standard map is usually very conservative and backs off the boost at the top end.

Mine, for example (although it is now 15 years old) had a max boost of 6psi and that was at 4800rpm (thereabouts), after that the boost was backed off rapidly.

I'm told the ecu has to be removed and modded unlike most cars.

Yours will be the ME7 ecu, here is a link to possible power gain through a remap. The ecu is remapped through the OBD port AFAIK, so no need to remove the ecu itself.

Not sure on costs though, you'd have to enquire.
