hey there as the title suggests i have 2 cracks both 2p size in my c70's windscreen they were stonechips and i had them filled but over this last winter and the real hot weather we've had here in cornwall recently the filled in chips have become cracks!!!

now i know you'll all shout insurance! but alas i am just 3rd party fire/theft!

but i do have a cunning plan and need help! there are 3 scrapyards near me one with a v70 estate and v70 saloon and the others have v70's and 850's
but no c70's,

long shot- just possibly is the v70 windscreen the same as the c70 screen?

cos if so i can get a good one from one of my scrapyards for £30 and i know a good glass specialist that can fit it for £100

im sure this would be far cheaper than autoglass! and now ive been reduced to part time in my job every pound counts!!

what are your thoughts people?!

Do you pass the midlands ever at all? If so I can get you a price similar to that supplied and fitted for a second hand glass. PM me if you are interested.

Surely if you had the chips filled then whoever did the work should be liable for replacing the screen if their work has failed.

The company that did the work is not liable if the window develops cracks around the repaired area, read the small print.
The best you can hope for from a reputable firm is to get your money back if you paid for them to do the job.

Not yet, been too busy sorting out mot's etc.

That's a bit crap that they won't guarantee the chip repair, after all some companies whole sales pitch for chip repair is that it stops your screen from cracking.
